Believe it or not, this gorgeous home was close to needing the bulldozer! After extensive retaining works on foundations, starting from scratch internally and a lot of work. The home was returned to a grand beachside home and performed beautifully with both hills views and glimpses of the ocean. Peaceful neutral tones and large open spaces, it was a joy to see this beauty given a breath of fresh air!
Another magnificent home that required salvaging from circling bulldozers as part of a Claridge property development. Made from sand block and with the sand base subsiding from around the home massive underpinning works to 3 sides of the home began the project. Once stabilised the full restoration of this classic home was commenced.
Once divided into 4 internal units, most windows and doors needed reinstatement. Full veranda’s were added together with a tiled deck to the entry side and an 8×8 metre covered alfresco to the rear. A full reroof, solar PV system, restoration of all external plasterwork and banding completed the external restoration.
Internally, the cellar and lower rooms were excavated further to improve functionality, steep internal staircase replaced with a legal Jarrah unit, ducted vacuum system, polished baltic floors, new ceilings and cornices, updated the interior. opening of the rear windows into french doors and additions combined with new bathrooms and a beautiful kitchen to complete the home.
The yard was an old olive orchard and 6 key trees were retained and added to with 70 metres of paved bike track, a large entertaining pergola, designer cubby house and outdoor amenities. One street from the beach and with glimpses of the ocean, the owners found the effort worthwhile and the home became a classic beachside mansion.
